- I'm currently reading Leonardo Da Vinci by Walter Issacson. He describes the friendship between Filippo Brunelleschi (polymath, goldsmith and designer of the Florence dome) and Donatello. "They measured the Pantheon dome, studied other great buildings, and read the works of ancient Romans, most notably Vitruvius's paean to classical proportions, De Architectura. Thus they became embodiments of multidisciplinary interests and rebirth of classical knowledge that shaped the early Renaissance." Is it too much to ask for a friendship like that?
